This is from a series of posters I made for revision of the characters in Shakespeare’s Twelfth Night. They each display quotes and comments that would be useful to revise for the GCSE English Literature exam. This poster is of Sebastian.
A5 prints make for really good individual student booklets, while producing A4 versions is ideal for general class use. If you’re wanting to display them, they look really good in A3.
PLEASE NOTE: If you have any trouble opening the pdf, email me at wezcartoons@gmail.com so I can send you the file direct.
As well as display, they can be given as a task for students to build on the quotes, linking each one to specific themes in the play and/or explaining why the trait of the character is significant. Another common use is to inspire students to make their own posters for other characters.

I also sell similar posters for:

While Romeo & Juliet and Macbeth are some of my best sellers, they were, surprisingly, the only Shakespeare bundles in my shop. Until now! This year I have completed my series of Twelfth Night characters, with a total of eight posters available.
For display, these print well as A3, while A4 are ideal for general class use. Students could be asked to expand on each quote, linking it to given themes in the play, or to say why that quote or trait is significant. The posters also serve as inspiration for students to create their own versions for other characters. If printed in A5, the full series of posters can make up a handy little revision guide for individual students.
Olivia is also currently available, along with Orsino, Antonio, Sebastian, Malvolio, Sir Andrew Aguecheek, and Viola.

This is from a series of posters I made for revision of the characters in George Orwell’s Animal Farm. They each display quotes and comments that would be useful to revise for the GCSE English Literature exam. This poster is of Mollie. The people represented by the character of Mollie are also visible in the background, to remind students that Mollie is an allegory for the White Russians, the bourgeois middle class. I have done this for each of the characters in this particular series.

I printed some out in A4 for my students but they look pretty good in A3 as eye-catching wall displays. You could also create individual revision booklets by reproducing these posters in A5.
The posters can be used in a number of different ways. I often ask students to link each of the quotes or comments to a theme and then to explain why the quote is significant. You could also blank out some of the text (digitally on Powerpoint with shapes covering what you don’t want them to see, or the old-fashioned way with correction fluid and a photocopier.) and ask them to fill in the blanks. The posters can also serve as inspiration for students to make their own posters, based on other characters and/or other texts.
Victor Frankenstein, The Creature, Elizabeth Lavenza, and Justine Moritz are also currently available. When I have completed Alphonse, Henry Clerval, and the DeLacey family I will offer the complete series as a bundle.
Other sets available from my TES shop:
An Inspector Calls;
Blood Brothers;
Romeo and Juliet;
Macbeth;
Twelfth Night;
Pigeon English;
The Strange Case of Dr Jekyll & Mr Hyde;
A Christmas Carol;
Animal Farm.
Please get in touch if there is a series of characters and quotes which you would like me to make. As long as it will sell on here, I am happy to put the time in to making them.
Victor Frankenstein’s beloved mother, Caroline Beaufort Frankenstein, is just one of nine posters in my Frankenstein series, created to help revision for the English Literature GCSE.
Individual revision booklets for students can be produced in A5, while A4 prints are ideal for general classroom use. If you wish to use them for display, they come out well in A3.
There are a number of different ways these can be used in class:
Blank out areas of the poster (in Powerpoint or with good old-fashioned white-out and a photocopier) and ask students to fill in the blanks
Ask students to link each of the quotes and comments to a given theme and explain why that quote is significant
Use the ‘picture only’ file to see what they come up with first before going through the complete one
Ask students to make their own poster for other characters and/or texts
Other characters in the series are Victor, Alphonse, Elizabeth, Justine, The Creature, Robert Walton, Henry, and The DeLacey Family. Look for the bundle to save money. My shop can be accessed by clicking on my picture or on the name ‘wezcartoons’.
